Meeting our teens at an early age and stage in life while acknowledging Mental Health First Aid for Youth, Teens and Pre-Teens providing Crisis Intervention can help while their brains are still developing, and their futures are yet bright. Responding to Youths with Mental Health needs are very important. That is why we use a structured Crisis Intervention manual for our Youth. Our structured programs Teens Are Our Future and
The Teen Expo are supported with valuable resources and research from University of Memphis, Alliance Mental Health Illness (NAMI) and the NATIONAL COUNCIL for BEHAVIORAL HEALTH (TheNationalCouncil.org)
When you use the skills that are learned in our Youth Mental Health First Aid, you are the first line support for a child or youth in need. You are there to help them feel less distressed and you can be a vital resource in helping them seek future assistance.You can also be an advocate, empower your community and improve self-care. As a Youth Mental Health First Aider, you can be the one to make a difference in the life of someone with a mental health challenge or needs mentoring.

Let me tell you more about what we're doing. I'm excited to share an opportunity for you to make a significant impact in our local schools and neighborhoods. All we need is you. Our initiative is dedicated to supporting teachers and inspiring teens, and your expertise could be invaluable. Our teens need good people like you, who can dedicate approximately 1.5 hours per week to assist with three key tasks, all designed to support our community and children:

Mentorship and Academic Support: Volunteers will have the opportunity to mentor teens, providing guidance and support with their academic work. This role is crucial in helping students develop confidence and skills in areas they find Difficult Cultural Enrichment Activities: You can lead or assist in organizing cultural activities and workshops that celebrate diversity and promote cultural awareness. These activities are essential for creating an inclusive environment and enriching the cultural fabric of our school Community Resource Coordination for Teachers: Assist teachers by coordinating and managing educational resources or materials. This support helps educators focus more on teaching and less on the logistical aspects of education, thereby enhancing the overall learning experience for students. Your role will not require teaching lessons or being alone with children. Instead, your contribution will focus on uplifting our community through these supportive and enriching activities. Your commitment can make a real difference in the lives of our educators and youth, and we would be thrilled to have you join us.
